Augmented Reality for Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. See your face in an advert video

Supertifoso (www.supertifoso.com), a funny campaign of the Italian Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, is based on an Augmented Reality application made in Flash that automatically insert your picture and your name in a video, like if such clip was made about your own story. The web campaign promotes a special credit card, Superflash, and it’s a quiz about football with questions aimed at telling you whether you are a super supporter or not. The result of your test is a video commented by the Gialappa’s Band (three popular funny guys of the Italian TV) and it can also be shared on social networks. The campaign is in Italian, so if you don’t speak italian but you want to try it, find below some translation:

(Air) AR Guitar for Disney XD. Seac02’s Augmented Reality to launch the new sitcom “I’m in The Band”

As of middle May 2010, Disney XD will start a tour aroud Italy to launch the new sitcom I’m In the Band which has been airing on the channel since April. Seac02’s Augmented Reality will be used by a partner to support the special effects of the promoting tour. (Air) AR Guitar will entertain children that wearing a T-shirt with the image of the program will be projected in a virtual stage where, thanks to Eligo texture tracking, a virtual guitar will appear on their hands. Depending on their movements, kids will also experience their own ’solos’ mixed on the sound track. The same application will be also available online to join the band at home using Seac02’s Flash markerless Augmented Reality. Here below you can find the very first tests of the application before the fine tuning for the final tour.

To Celebrate Earth Day 2010, Think3 and Seac02 announce the “Green Digital Marketing Platform”, a shared project with the goal of providing the international market an innovative platform that is also aligned with the needs of the environment. As of release 2010 Thinkdesign users will benefit of an Augmented Reality output, thanks to the integration of LinceoVR technology in the CAD software of Think3.

Last Gorillaz’s Videoclip in Augmented Reality on XL, the monthly magazine of La Repubblica

Readers of XL, the magazine edited by the well-known Italian national newspaper La Repubblica, can find an Augmented Reality surprise, powered by Seac02, on the edition of march 2010. Connecting to the XL’s website and showing the cover of the magazine to the webcam, users will see the last videoclip of Gorillaz, the mysterious cartoon band to which the cover itself and a news in the magazine are dedicated. The application is made using Flash texture tracking technology, in order to let people enjoy easily Augmented Reality online without downloading any plugin. The videoclip appears and plays with audio on the cover of the news paper and follows it. This is the very first markerless Augmented Reality application on the Web for an Italian national magazine.

L’ultimo videoclip dei Gorillaz in Realtà Aumentata su XL, la rivista mensile di Republlica

I lettori di XL, il mensile di La Repubblica, possono trovare una sorpresa in Realtà Aumentata, targata Seac02, nel numero di Marzo 2010. Connettendosi al sito di XL e mostrando la copertina della rivista alla webcam, gli utenti vedranno le immagini dell’ultimo videoclip dei Gorillaz, la misteriosa cartoon-band a cui la copertina stessa ed un articolo della rivista sono dedicati. L’applicazione è realizzata utilizzando la tecnologia di Texture Tracking in Flash, per consentire alle persone di godersi la Realtà Aumentata online senza scaricare alcun plugin. Il videoclip compare ed è riprodotto con audio sulla copertina della rivista, seguendola. Si tratta della primissima applicazione markerless (senza tag) di Augmented Reality per il Web per una rivista nazionale italiana.

Augmented reality will be 2010 top trend for e-commerce

Flixmedia, the online retail specialists, are predicting 5 key innovations will transform the business of ecommerce in 2010.

Scott Lester, Chief Executive of Flixmedia.tv, believes the new decade marks a turning point for an industry that needs to innovate to grow.

“We’ve got to a point in online retail now where most consumers are comfortable with the experience of buying online – sales have grown 11% year on year. But the ecommerce experience is far from perfect, and sales are being lost every day because of this. Some parts of the online shopping journey haven’t changed in 10 years – for example, hundreds of potential purchases are lost every day because of customers abandoning their carts before checkout, because the checkout experience still isn’t simple and compelling enough. Real progress needs to be made.”

According to Lester, the key innovations that online retailers should be looking at in 2010 are:
